M2 roadworks start tonight between Faversham and Brenley Corner
Two
weeks of overnight work on the M2 began on Monday night to repair
the road surface.
Resurfacing work on both carriageways of the route will take
place between junctions 6 and 7, between Faversham and Brenley
Corner. There will be some closures.
To limit delays, all the work will be carried out between 8pm
and 6am each night.
There will be various traffic restrictions while work is taking
place, including some overnight closures of the main carriageway in
either direction.
When the coastbound carriageway is closed, drivers can divert
onto the A251 and A2 Canterbury Road to rejoin the main road at
Brenley Corner (junction 7).
When the London-bound carriageway is closed, drivers will be
diverted over the same roads.
On other dates throughout the work there will be lane closures
on either the eastbound or westbound M2 carriageway with
hardshoulder running and a 50mph temporary speed limit in
place.
